Saarland state government plans to create 31 new jobs in six out of eight ministries. According to a Saarbrücker Zeitung report, these jobs shall be financed through vacant jobs at the police and the tax offices. The opposition and the German detective association (BDK) criticized the decision and warned against job cuts at the police. [...]

The dismissal of an action against Hartmut Osterman (Liberal Democrats) has caused heavy discussions among the Landtag parties.
